Warrior

Been a while since I have done a painting and the one is based on the following quote:

I worked in a Moleskine watercolour journal and used Neocolor crayons.

International Women’s Day

Proud to have one of my girls being exhibited as part of International Women’s Day at The Makers Mezzanine in Whitney on Wye.
All the works of art are postcard size and I decided to work on a wood block using acrylics, watercolour and of course some washie tape.
I added an inspirational quote which I felt reflected the theme #balanceforbetter.
All the works of art are for sale and a percentage of the profits will go to local women’s services in Herefordshire and Powys.

Happiness is...

Started with a Gelli print background in my paperbag journal. Added some stamping, foiling and frantage to the page. The image (Danielle Donaldson designs for Stamping Bella) is coloured using Copics/Promarkers and a touch of coloured pencil.

A bit of a puzzle!

I decided it was time to dust of some of my PaperArtsy girls for these altered jigsaw puzzles pieces. Drippage using acrylic ink, stencilling using both neon ink and acrylic paints. Of course plenty of stamping and I coloured my girls in with Promarkers/Copics.

More Focus

Upcycled a little metal tin for this cute little door hanger. Painted using Fresco paints and glittered the inside. The background is a Gelli print using Distress Oxide inks and the girlie stamps are from Stamping Bella. I chose the quote as it included my word for 2019 ‘focus’.

Positive

Used a graphite stick and pencil shading using paper stump.
Went for some simple inky stencilling for the background.

Workshop Project

Been wanting to do a workshop for ages but was in limbo in 2018 waiting for and having an operation. All recovered and focussing on things I really want to do in 2019.
So spent some time playing with ideas and finally got a workshop organised for Saturday 23rd February at my local craft shop called The Pedlars Tray in Herefordshire.
You can book a place by emailing sales@thepedlarstrayltd.co.uk or by telephoning 01432 379095.

Be Bold!

Sharing my first art journal page for 2019 today.
Made myself a little paper bag journal.
First I Gelli printed onto each side of the bag and then stitched the pages onto the cover. It’s only small but perfect for some quick art journaling work.

Little Bird

Over the Christmas holiday I have been working on a slow art project. You can’t rush paper clay, it needs time to dry and in a way that slows you down, making you appreciate the process more and immerse yourself into the creative.

This little bird is sat on an altered wooden spool and attached to it is my word for 2019
‘FOCUS’.
