I scanned some of my art journal pages and printed the images onto printable sheets of fabric.
If you are interested I purchased the printable fabric from HERE.

They were then sewn into bags filled with homegrown lavender.

Perseverance and a Little Cutie

Ok so it just shows how important perseverance is as I nearly gave up on my little fairy after the base sketch and coat of paint. More soft pastel and acrylic paint mixing for this journal page. And below is a 10 minute little moleskine sketchbook painting.
Continuing my 24 Faces workshop by Mindy Lacefield.

Flick

Continuing my art journaling with Mindy Lacefield’s 24 Face course. Not following them religiously but using them as inspiration as it is nice to try something new and helps develop techniques to use when working in your own style. This is Flick...so called because of her hair.

10 minutes

This ten minutes quick draw exercise was very liberating! I love how she turned out.
Added a touch of neon pink and translucent blue paint.

Coral

So called because of the name of the paint I used for her hair.
Lots of paint on this journal page but a touch of Neo Colours crayons to.
Washi taped her dress and again taking inspiration from Mindy Lacefield’s 24 Faces class.

Think Pink

This project I have created especially for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
It doesn’t matter what your age or sex make sure you check yourself regularly.
Not sure what to do or look out for then head over to this helpful guide HERE.
Crafting is a fabulous therapy for those fighting breast cancer, recovering or for family and friend supporting those going through such a tough time with treatment.

I altered an old cardboard jewellery box, stamped using Distress ink oxide in Worn lipstick, some grey stamping and of course some Stampotique girlies were coloured in using Promarkers.

Mermaid

Had lots of fun making the background. Inked up a couple of new Stampotique stamps for this card.
Mermaid was coloured with promarkers and a little touch of coloured pencil. I used up a load of iridescent gem stones to give a water bubble effect.

Final Angel

Over the past couple of weeks I have been using all I learned in the Kelly Rae Roberts course to create my own very large canvas to hang up in my bedroom. As I used oil paint bars for her face I needed to give more drying time between each layers. I was considering adding a quote but in the end decided she didn't need one.

Angel #6

Sad to have completed the Spirit Wings class by Kelly Rae Roberts. It pushed me to try some different mediums to colour the faces and also made me use collage which is something I didn't really  like to use in my mixed media work. Upcycled an old canvas for this angel. I am planning to use what I have learned to create a large canvas....watch this space!

Angel #5

Although the summer holidays are well and truely over I am still sharing art work I created.
This angels face was created using Winsor Newton Oil bars which was a new medium for me but I liked how she turned out. On the page a halo seemed to appear around my truth angel and I found a very appropriate quote for the time of year.

This angel is on the front of a journal I have completed.

Bird

While working on what I thought was a double page spread in my journal a bird's wing seems to appear on the second page....so decided to go with it and here is how my page turned out!

Angel #3

The online course I am taking by Kelly Rae Roberts is really helping me to stay motivated with art journal. Really pleased with how my latest angel turned out and the colours I ended up using. Her face was created using gelatos.

Angel #2

Continuing some art journaling inspired by Kelly Rae Roberts Spirit Wings online course.
I have used Big brush pens for a long time but always on top of paint, so it was great to try something different on this face and blend them straight onto gel medium surface. I am really pleased with how she turned out and can't wait to get started on the next lesson.
